With the Hyperia City prerelease just three weeks away, Ravensburger held a special Lorecast livestream on 22 September 2026 that answered the big questions collectors had been sitting on. Here is everything that matters before you head to your local game store on 16 October.

The Second Iconic Is Cinderella

We already knew Mickey Mouse – Best in Town would be one of the set's Iconic-rarity cards, but the Lorecast confirmed the second slot goes to Cinderella – Unintentional Icon. She costs seven ink to play, is inkable, and carries a Shift cost of five, making her slottable into ramp-heavy decks. Her four strength and six willpower give her solid staying power, and her single ability — Bespoke Design — lets you look at the top two cards of your deck at the end of your turn, placing one on top or bottom and sending the other into your inkwell face-down and exerted. It is a quietly powerful card-selection and ink-generation tool in one, and the kind of effect that rewards careful sequencing.

Ink Drops: The New Mechanic Explained

Ink Drops are the headline mechanical addition for Hyperia City. An Ink Drop is a consumable ink token that can be used to pay for any ink cost demanded by a card or ability — essentially a flexible one-ink accelerant you can generate, hold, and spend at will. The mechanic has been teased in earlier reveals, but the Lorecast gave the fullest explanation to date. Given that Lorcana's economy revolves around managing your inkwell and tempo, having a resource that sits outside your hand and survives turn transitions could open genuinely new lines of play, particularly in aggressive or combo-oriented builds. Expect Ink Drop generation to become a deckbuilding axis for the set's duration in competitive play.

Illustrious Cards and Collector Boosters

The Lorecast also confirmed the debut of a new tier called Illustrious cards, which will arrive in Lorcana's first-ever collector booster format — launching with the upcoming Into the Inkdark product early next year rather than in Hyperia City's standard packs. Illustrious cards will be limited to just 23 copies each, and none will be legal in Core Constructed, making them a pure collector pursuit. The first Illustrious card revealed is The Evil Queen – Commanding Presence, with artwork by Arch Apolar.

UK pricing for the collector booster format has already been confirmed: individual packs will retail at £31.99, and collector booster boxes will carry an MSRP of £383.88. Those are significant numbers, and given the print-run limits on Illustrious cards, it is reasonable to expect strong demand when Into the Inkdark launches.

• Minnie Mouse – Urban Visionary is the Buy-a-Box reward, available when you purchase a booster box from a participating Ravensburger Play Hub store.
• Nick Wilde – Providing Backup will be the reward for the next in-store Collection Quest.
• Donald Duck – Taxi Driver is the seasonal promo distributed at Ravensburger-run events including expos, demo sessions, and select competitive events.
• Baymax – Lab Assistant will be available as a Magical Places promo at Disney Parks, though full details are still to come.
• Minnie Mouse – Amethyst Champion is the World Championship 2026 promo.

A new promo set code — RPH — has also appeared alongside these reveals, widely interpreted as standing for Ravensburger Play Hub, suggesting a more structured programme for promo distribution through participating stores going forward.
