Buyer Protection Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
1. Purpose
This Buyer Protection Policy explains how TCG Listing assists buyers where transactions do not proceed as expected. TCG Listing operates as a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers and is not the seller of products listed on the Platform.
2. Scope
This policy applies to purchases completed through TCG Listing. It does not replace any legal rights available under applicable law — see our Consumer Rights page.
3. Covered situations
A buyer may be eligible to open a dispute where:
- the item was not received;
- the item received materially differs from the listing;
- the item is believed to be counterfeit;
- the wrong item was received;
- the item arrived significantly damaged due to inadequate packaging.
4. Excluded situations
The following are generally not covered:
- buyer's remorse;
- minor condition differences not affecting value;
- delays caused by postal services outside the seller's control;
- failure to read listing descriptions;
- disputes raised after the applicable dispute period.
Note: where you buy from a business seller as a consumer, statutory rights (such as a 14-day right to cancel) may still apply even if a situation is not covered above. See Consumer Rights.
5. Reporting a problem
Buyers should first contact the seller through the Platform. If no resolution is reached, the buyer may open a dispute through TCG Listing. The buyer may be required to provide:
- photographs;
- tracking information;
- authentication evidence;
- expert opinions;
- communication records.
6. Counterfeit claims
Where a buyer believes an item is counterfeit:
- the claim must be supported by reasonable evidence;
- TCG Listing may request further documentation;
- sellers may be required to provide proof of authenticity.
TCG Listing reserves the right to determine whether evidence is sufficient.
7. Investigation process
TCG Listing may:
- review communications;
- review listing information;
- review payment records;
- review account history;
- request additional evidence.
Failure to cooperate may negatively affect the outcome of a dispute.
8. Outcomes
Following investigation, TCG Listing may:
- reject the claim;
- require a return of the item;
- issue a refund;
- reverse a transaction;
- restrict seller privileges;
- suspend accounts.
9. Return requirements
Where returns are required:
- items must be returned in substantially the same condition received;
- buyers must follow the return instructions provided;
- tracking may be required.
10. Platform discretion
TCG Listing retains sole discretion in administering this policy and making decisions based on available evidence.
11. No guarantee
While TCG Listing aims to provide a fair marketplace, outcomes cannot be guaranteed and decisions will be based on the information available at the time of review.
