Pokémon TCG Delta Reign: Four Prerelease Promos Revealed — and What the Latest Card Drops Tell Us

With prerelease events starting 24 October, the Pokémon Company has just unveiled the four Build & Battle Box promo cards for Delta Reign — plus seven new secret rares landed this week.

Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution — Delta Reign is less than four weeks away from its prerelease window, and the spoiler season is accelerating fast. In the last few days alone, four brand-new promo cards have been officially revealed and a fresh wave of secret rares dropped on 28 September. Here is everything you need to know right now.

The Four Prerelease Promo Cards

Each Delta Reign Build & Battle Box contains one of four randomly inserted foil promo cards, and the Pokémon Company has now shown all of them: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus, and Kommo-o.

Every promo is stamped with the Delta Reign set logo, and each one is built around a distinct deck strategy:

  • Masquerain leans into the 'Bug Out' attack — the pre-built deck packs multiple Pokémon sharing the same move, which stacks damage the more copies are on the field.
  • Magmortar comes with the Buddy Boost Ability, letting you attach Basic Fire or Lightning Energy to both Magmortar and its classic partner Electivire simultaneously.
  • Enamorus carries the Incarnate Solidarity Ability, which lets you ignore Colourless Energy costs in attack costs — an effect shared with Thundurus, Landorus, and Tornadus, turning the quartet into a formidable force-of-nature combo deck.
  • Kommo-o rounds out the four, offering a more aggressive beatdown angle.

Build & Battle Boxes each include four Delta Reign booster packs and a ready-to-play 40-card deck, making the prerelease the earliest you can crack the new set open at your local game store.

Seven New Secret Rares Confirmed This Week

Separate to the promo reveal, 28 September brought the latest English card drop for Delta Reign. The set now has 42 English cards confirmed in total — 35 main-set cards and seven secret rares above the 103-card base set number. The secret rares identified so far include Illustration Rares for Masquerain, Sprigatito, Growlithe, Pincurchin, Eevee, and Azurill, plus a Special Illustration Rare for Raikou ex. When all treatments are counted, Delta Reign is expected to reach approximately 140 cards in total — the official line is "over 135".

The Legendary Stadiums Mechanic

One of Delta Reign's standout mechanical introductions is the Legendary Stadiums system. Rather than a single card, each Legendary Stadium is a pair of Uncommon Stadium cards that share one panoramic illustration split across both halves. Crucially, both halves must be played from your hand simultaneously to put the Stadium into play. Three pairs have been confirmed: Legendary Ocean Trench, Legendary Summit, and Legendary Lava Lake. It is a genuinely novel design for the Stadium card type, and one that will add a layer of deck-building decisions — you need to hold both halves at once to fire the effect.

Key Dates for UK Players

Prerelease events run from 24 October to 1 November 2026 at participating local game stores. That is your earliest window to play with the set and pick up a Build & Battle Box. The full retail launch follows on 6 November 2026, making Delta Reign the final new Pokémon TCG expansion of the year.

More cards — including additional secret rares and likely the full Mega Rayquaza ex artwork — are expected to be revealed throughout October ahead of that launch. Keep an eye on your local store's Play! Pokémon event listing to secure a prerelease slot, and check back here as the spoiler season continues.
