Pokémon TCG Storm Emeralda: Every Card Revealed So Far — Rayquaza, Mega Malamar ex, Split Stadiums, and More

With just under two weeks until Japan gets its hands on Storm Emeralda, The Pokémon Company has been rolling out reveals at pace — and the set is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Japanese releases of the Mega Evolution era. Here is a full breakdown of everything confirmed so far.

The Set at a Glance

Storm Emeralda (officially styled as MEGA Expansion Pack Storm Emeralda, or M6 in Japan's internal numbering) releases in Japan on 31 July 2026, with localised releases in Taiwan and Hong Kong following on 7 August. The English version has been confirmed as Delta Reign, which is currently scheduled for 6 November 2026 — a longer gap than usual, pushed back to make room for the all-foil 30th Celebration set in September.

The set contains 76 cards in its main set, with a further 35 to 40 secret rares expected, for a rough total of around 115 cards — consistent with previous Mega Evolution sets. It forms the centrepiece of a wider "Mega Rayquaza Soaring Through the Sky" campaign that also encompasses the Sky Sovereign expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, releasing on 30 July.

Confirmed Card Reveals

Mega Rayquaza ex leads the set as its mascot card. It is a Colourless-type Basic Pokémon with 280 HP. Its Ability, Champion's Roar, triggers when you play it from your hand onto your Bench: you look at the top four cards of your deck and may attach any Basic Energy found there directly to Mega Rayquaza ex. Its attack, Storm Emeralda, deals 50× damage — making it a scaling finisher that pairs naturally with that Energy-ramping Ability.

Mega Malamar ex has also been officially revealed alongside Sableye, and appears to operate as a Psychic-type attacker with strong Bench-punishing potential.

Mega Golisopod ex and Wishiwashi ex were confirmed in a second reveal wave, alongside the Cacnea evolutionary line.

The Forces of Nature — Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, and Enamorus — all appear in the set as a connected quartet. Each shares the Incarnate Union Ability: if all four are in play simultaneously, their Colourless Energy attack costs are ignored entirely. This is a clear nod to the HeartGold & SoulSilver era's cooperative card design and gives the set a real combo-building angle for players.

Zinnia Supporter cards also feature, tying the set's flavour firmly to the Hoenn theme and the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire era that Rayquaza is most associated with.

The Split Stadium Mechanic

Perhaps the most talked-about innovation in Storm Emeralda is the introduction of split Stadium cards — a brand-new mechanic for the Pokémon TCG. Two such Stadiums have been confirmed:

• Legendary Summit — you must play both halves from your hand at the same time, and together they count as a single Stadium. When any Pokémon is Knocked Out by an opponent's attack, both players' Colourless Pokémon give up one fewer Prize card.
• Legendary Trench — the second split Stadium pair. When any Pokémon in play is healed, the amount healed is doubled.

The mechanic hearkens back to the LEGEND cards of the HeartGold & SoulSilver era, where players needed both halves in hand to play a full card. For collectors, these will almost certainly be among the most sought-after pulls in the set purely for their novelty.

Products Launching Alongside the Set

On 31 July, three MEGA Starter Set ex Decks will launch simultaneously in Japan, featuring Eevee ex, Zoroark ex, and Meowscarada ex. These are structured play decks designed for new and returning players stepping into the Mega Evolution era.

A connected promo card — Mega Gallade ex as a Special Illustration Rare — is also confirmed, awarded to winners of sealed launch tournaments in Japan.

What This Means for English Collectors

For UK collectors, Delta Reign is the version to plan around, arriving 6 November 2026. That date does mean a longer wait, but it also gives plenty of time to watch the Japanese set land, assess which Secret Rares are worth hunting, and set a budget accordingly. Full-art Rayquaza cards have historically held strong secondary market value, and if a Special Illustration Rare or Mega Hyper Rare version of Mega Rayquaza ex appears in the set, demand is likely to be intense at launch.

In the meantime, Japanese collectors and import enthusiasts can pick up Storm Emeralda packs from 31 July — a worthwhile option if you want to experience the set months early or are building a Japanese master set collection.
